Based on the style of its archways and skylights, this beautiful building is estimated to have been constructed around 1870. In 1883, it became home to Jules Dingler, Chief Engineer of the Compagnie Universelle du Canal Interocéanique.
When the United States took over the construction of the Panama Canal, the building remained the residence of the chief engineer. John Wallace, the first official in charge of the American canal enterprise, lived here in the early 20th century. Later on, the property also became home to the first U.S. Embassy—or “Legation”—in Panama.
The building was designed with eight residential units and a commercial space, which currently houses our office. From here, we offer a range of real estate services including rentals, sales, and property purchases in the Casco Antiguo area.
This particular unit features a loft-style bedroom and a stunning private patio. What more could you ask for in a charming Casco apartment?
